“Mom…I Have Issues Eating Food That Looks the Same Coming Out as it Does Going In!”

HOW MUCH for an ear of corn???

My father’s darkroom.

Back when he was alive, I would spend countless hours sitting down there with him. The soft red couch he had is still there and feels familiar to my skin as I tuck my legs under myself and close my eyes. This room is where I go to do serious thinking – it’s quiet and calming and all mindblocks vanish as soon as I close the heavy, carved mahogany door behind me.

The air is cool in an unusual way for late June in upstate New York, and a soft breeze moves around the smell of the developing chemicals – stored in neat rows behind a dark curtain to keep them safe from light – and it heightens my memories even more.

“Maybe I Just Need to be Spanked?”

Just like most girls, I have toys.

And my favorite toy is, admittedly, on the smallish side – but boy, when it gets going – it’s insanely hot and I could play with it all night if I could.

Oh Dear God, Don’t Sit On the Pineapple!!

You are about to be the first to find out.

I’m dumping Bob.

He’s just not hot anymore.

I admit that I have been rough on him lately – using him around the clock, over and over. I suppose I had to expect him to just get tired and stop responding the way I need him to. He was there to listen to me, to agree with me and even comfort me. He made each day seem clear – vivid…giving me the energy I needed to make it through most days…

Hello. I’m Victoria. And I’m Insatiable.

First and foremost I would like to thank everyone who has been reading my little blog and leaving such lovely comments and nominating me for awards. I am replying to each and every one of them – hence the delay. Thank you all so much for taking some precious time from your day and spending it with me!!

Next, I would like to thank every one who gave me their vote on moving to either Cape Cod or Myrtle Beach. They votes are still steadily coming in and I will certainly let you know what the general consensus is.

What Would YOU Do?

My 5 daughters and I are spending today doing some VERY SERIOUS, LAST MINUTE debating whether we should move to our beloved Cape Cod, or be adventurous and opt for exciting (and MUCH WARMER) Myrtle Beach.

What’s your vote?

Ticked Off…

Our dress rehearsal on Saturday for Easter Sunday Mass went flawlessly.

Big poofy, pastel dresses on my three littlest girls, and my tween and teen looked elegant in their new clothes. Socks, and shoes were matched and shiny, and ribbons were crisp. Every hair was in place and faces were fresh and glowing. We were even on track with our schedule.

The girls were free to shed their pretty – but admittedly stiff – dresses and shoes, and throw on jeans and sweatshirts to play in the “enchanted forest” behind our house with the kids next door for the rest of the day.

Again, that was Saturday.

The Calm Before the Storm…

The Calm Before the Storm...

Daughters #3, #4 and #5 trying REALLY hard to impress the Easter Bunny with their good behavior.

I am taking a poll on how long this will last…

Time to Sparkle!

Easter is one of the most exciting holidays – signifying rebirth and a brand new, exciting beginning – full of beauty and wonder (like our move to either Cape Cod or Myrtle Beach). Today we go crazy and decorate everything in sight with pastel colors. And glitter. LOTS and LOTS of glitter.
