You are about to be the first to find out.
I’m dumping Bob.
He’s just not hot anymore.
I admit that I have been rough on him lately – using him around the clock, over and over. I suppose I had to expect him to just get tired and stop responding the way I need him to. He was there to listen to me, to agree with me and even comfort me. He made each day seem clear – vivid…giving me the energy I needed to make it through most days…
Yep, I’m one of THOSE.
A “coupon clipper”.
And this morning I am devoting a tiny chunk of time to “cutting money out of circulars”, with the help of, of course, my two littlest. My three year old is learning how to read and is “delighting” me with every word she reads – “Are you delighted Mommy? Watch me, Mommy, watch me read! Are you delighted?”
Ahhh…Friday. Tonight I get to slip into a silky, royal blue silk dress and sky-high pumps and enjoy myself at a local artist’s reception here in Saratoga.
I always get an erotic thrill coursing through my body when I get to meet the creators of beautiful artwork – there is something titillating for me to be able to be in the presence of someone who can passionately capture a moment of time with various mediums.
I am not proud about what I am about to confess to you.
Worst of all, I know I will disappoint my mother the most.
I committed a HUGE sin in Polish tradition. I used instant potatoes in my pierogie.
My favorite food in Poland (OK, one of my favorite foods in Poland) is zapiekanki, and from sessions at nometne as a child – dzelten maize.
The zapiekanki that conjur up the best memories for me were (probably still are) sold by outside vendors near the bus and train stations in Rzeszow. These are similar to grilled French bread pizzas topped with lots of minced mushrooms, melted cheese and a spicy tomato sauce. Rzeszow was a town we frequently had to stop through en route to pretty much much most other places in Poland. And Dzierzoniow, as I recall, also had some great ones.
I can still recall the delicious smell wafting around us as fabulous memories of standing in long lines with my friends and family during trips – summer romps to Solina in the Bieszczady Mountains and in the winter – to the resort town of Zakopane in the Tatra Mountains. At each stop along our way, we had to sample the local zapiekankie and to restock our drink and snack supply. Definately more on these trips coming up in future posts – and I will tease you by saying – they were wild times.
What a gorgeous day it’s been so relaxing to be able to sit back, chill, and pick my next five nominations for The Versatile Blogger Award..
What a delight it was to wake up and read that I had been nominated for the “The Versatile Blogger Award” by Angelique who is the fabulous author of Inhouse Mum!
In keeping with the tradition of this award…I am nominating 5 blogs that absolutely have me riveted and leave me feeling great after reading them…please take some time to visit them and check out how truly wonderful they are!!
First and foremost I would like to thank everyone who has been reading my little blog and leaving such lovely comments and nominating me for awards. I am replying to each and every one of them – hence the delay. Thank you all so much for taking some precious time from your day and spending it with me!!
Next, I would like to thank every one who gave me their vote on moving to either Cape Cod or Myrtle Beach. They votes are still steadily coming in and I will certainly let you know what the general consensus is.
My 5 daughters and I are spending today doing some VERY SERIOUS, LAST MINUTE debating whether we should move to our beloved Cape Cod, or be adventurous and opt for exciting (and MUCH WARMER) Myrtle Beach.
What’s your vote?
